FLOWER BRICK WORKSHOP with Rosa Bond

July 21 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

£54.00
Flower bricks are a wonderful way to display flowers. Unlike most vases they are generally low and rectangular (brick shaped!) with multiple holes hand cut into the top to hold individual stems. They make flower arranging easy and are perfect for showing off smaller blooms from the garden.

Rosa says: ‘Flower bricks are also one of my favourite things to make and in this workshop you will create your own flower brick using the slab building technique. Slab building is when we use rolled out sheets of clay to create a 3-dimensional form with. I will demonstrate basic principles and steps to success for working with slab. We will also be creating and using simple templates and thinking about surface texture.‘Your finished flower brick will then be glazed and fired then returned to Platform for collection. (Please allow 3 weeks for this to happen).

All materials and firings are included in the ticket price along with refreshments on the day. Please ensure you bring an apron or wear old clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting marked.

Attendees will also receive a 10% discount on purchases in store for the date of your workshop only.

All of our workshops are run by small independent makers and have limited spaces therefore, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you have any special requirements related to your booking, please get in touch with us.
